Q: How do I know if my brushless motor is bad?

A: Check for short circuits between the stator and the windings. Look for any connection between the windings and the motor stator laminations. You will need to find bare metal on the stator for one connection to the meter and on the meter windings for the other.

Q: What happens when a DC motor is overloaded?

A: The main issue with excess current is that it creates heat which degrades the insulation surrounding the conductors that creates stator magnetic field. Continued degradation of the winding insulation results in failure of the insulation and eventual motor failure
